The Ukrainian national team could soon have a new technical sponsor - Adidas could return as the country's kit maker after seven years.

UAF President Shevchenko Meets With Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden

Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) President Andriy Shevchenko met with Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden in Munich. Shevchenko expressed his gratitude to Gulden for the excellent reception and shared the news on his Instagram page.

Shevchenko has been sponsored by various brands during his career, including Lotto, Reebok, Adidas, and, Nike (the last brand he wore before the end of his career). Shevchenko is no ambassador of the Adidas brand (yet), making the meeting extremely interesting.

Although further details of the meeting are unknown, it is possible to assume that Adidas will replace Joma as the team's technical sponsor, as the latter has been involved in scandals due to its continued operation in the Russian market.

Adidas officially announced its departure from the Russian market in 2022 and had no plans to resume its activities there.

Adidas already sponsored the Ukrainian national football team from 2010 until 2016.
