Nike FC Barcelona 24-25 Home Kit Delayed, Kits to Feature Old Spotify Logo?
- Kit Delay: The official launch of the FC Barcelona 2024-2025 home kit, originally planned for June 20th, has been delayed, likely beyond this month.
- Nike Contract: Negotiations between FC Barcelona and Nike are ongoing, which is impacting the kit release as they try to finalize a new agreement before the end of the month.
- Old Spotify Logo: The new kit will likely feature the old Spotify logo because Nike produced the kits before Spotify's logo change in May, and the new logo won't be featured on shirts until the 25-26 season.
FC Barcelona has yet to officially unveil its new kit for the 2024-2025 season. Now, the Spanish news journal Relevo has revealed that there is certainly a delay in the presentation.
The Barcelona 24-25 home kit was originally scheduled to be launched today, 20 June 2024. However, now it appears that the kit won't come out even this month.
FC Barcelona Yet to Sign New Nike Contract, 24-25 Kits Likely to Feature Old Spotify Logo
The delay of the Barcelona 24-25 home kit is due in part to the ongoing negotiations with Nike, the North American firm. The club is working to finalize the new agreement with Nike before the end of the month. However, there are still some details to be worked out regarding the financial aspects of the deal.
Spotify only revealed its new logo in May, after Nike produced all the Barcelona kits
Another thing conflicting with the launch of the new Barcelona 2024-2025 kit would be the new logo presented by Spotify in May. Nike has produced the Barcelona 24-25 shirts with the old logo. Footy Headlines strongly believes that the new Spotify logo will only debut on the Barcelona 25-26 kits - Nike produced all kits with the old Spotify logo.
The photo shots were made without the new kit
Oddly, the players were also unable to have their traditional photo session with the new kit before going on vacation. This is typically done before the end of the season, but this year the players were not able to see the design that they will wear during the pre-season. As a result, the images of the players wearing the new kit will have to be created through photomontage.
It is also possible that the release of the second kit could be altered due to the delay in the presentation of the first kit. In the past, the second kit was released at the end of July and would be worn during the team's tour in the United States. The third kit is typically unveiled in August, once the season is already underway.
