Barcelona Announces Special 'Cat' Mascot to Celebrate 125th Anniversary

At the club's 125th anniversary celebrations yesterday, Barcelona unveiled their commemorative mascot, 'CAT', inspired by the Catalonia cat and created from the club's crest to reflect Barça’s most iconic features.

Barcelona 125th Anniversary 'Cat' Mascot

The new Barcelona's 125th anniversary mascot, the 'Cat', is a wildcat, a native of Catalonia, which embodies the spirit of the club.

CAT is very much a Culer, so charismatic, innovative, leading, demanding, creative, and inclusive qualities naturally guided its design and conception.

'CAT' has no specific gender, being either male and female and hence a symbol of modernity and inclusiveness.

CAT thus honors its Catalan roots, and not just in name, but also in its pride for the famous club that represents the city of Barcelona so gracefully around the world.

The 'Cat' mascot was created by FC Barcelona's Identity department in collaboration with the renowned Grangel Studio, run by the brothers of the same name, Jordi and Carlos.
