Dutch club FC Groningen has officially launched their new home and away kits for the 2025-2026 season. Produced by clothing partner Robey Sportswear, both jerseys are designed with a strong nod to the club's history at the iconic Oosterpark stadium, commemorating 20 years since the move to Euroborg.
The club states, "FC Groningen has its foundations in Oosterpark and will cherish this place forever. That is why, 20 years after the move to Euroborg, it was decided to incorporate the Oosterpark theme into the shirts. Because a Groninger never forgets where he comes from."
Groningen 25-26 Home Kit
This is the new Robey Groningen home jersey for 2025-26.
The Robey Groningen 2025-26 home football shirt features the club's traditional design but with shortened green stripes, reminiscent of the kits worn during the final seasons at Oosterpark (Zaagmuldersweg). The shirt includes an embroidered club logo and the new main sponsor "Autokan" on the front.
Both the Groningen 25-26 home and away kits share several common design elements that pay homage to Oosterpark:
Inner Collar: Features green and white stripes, identical to those on the interior of the Oosterpark stadium on both short sides. The years "1933-2005" are also incorporated, representing the period GVAV and FC Groningen were active at the historic ground.
Back Neck: The words "Stadion Oosterpark" (as seen at the entrance of the current training ground) are printed on the back of both shirts, in the neck area.
Kit Font: The kits will use the font developed by art director Thijs van den Broek in 2023, but with an outline added. This makes the numbers more similar to those used on shirts during the final years at Oosterpark.
Groningen 25-26 Away Kit
This is the Groningen 25-26 away shirt, made by Robey.
The Robey Groningen 2025-26 away football shirt is predominantly green, a color also used for away kits in the early 2000s during the Oosterpark era. A standout feature is a subtle fabric pattern inspired by the "fences of Oosterpark." Like the home, it features an embroidered club logo and the "Autokan" sponsor.
The new FC Groningen 2025-2026 kits are available to order online and in the FC Groningen Store from today, May 28th, 2025. The price for an adult shirt remains €69.95, though printing costs have slightly increased.

The boot issues add to a growing list of durability concerns for Puma during the 2026 tournament. Multiple national teams, including Morocco, Egypt, Paraguay, and Czechia, have experienced torn jerseys during match play.
Viral DR Congo Fan Stands Motionless at 2026 World Cup in Tribute to Patrice Lumumba
During the 2026 World Cup match between DR Congo and Colombia, one fan in the stands captured the attention of the football world. Michel Kuka Mboladinga, a supporter of the DR Congo national team, stood completely motionless throughout the entire game, with his arm raised in a statue-like pose. This unique display was a dedicated homage to Patrice Lumumba, the country's prominent independence leader.
Mboladinga's commitment to the tribute was remarkable, as he remained perfectly still for the full 90 minutes, refusing to break character to celebrate goals or react to the action on the pitch. According to reports, the dedicated fan had missed DR Congo's opening match of the tournament due to migration issues, making his appearance and subsequent viral moment against Colombia all the more significant. His physical endurance and patriotic display have made him one of the most memorable figures in the stands at the 2026 World Cup.
