Update - Feb 8, 2026: Adidas Y-3 has brought back the legendary "Beast Pack", but this time reimagined for American football with the adizero Electric II 'Y-3 Beast' cleat collection. The four colorways maintain the original animal symbolism - Wolf in gray, Dragon in blue, Tiger, and Eagle - translating the iconic football boot designs to gridiron-specific performance footwear. There will also be some lifestyle/small-sided soccer versions of these, to be launched around April 2026.
Jun 12, 2025: Get ready for a legendary comeback! Adidas Y-3, the collaboration between the German sportswear giant and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, is set to reissue the iconic +F50 Tunit "Beast Pack" in April 2026. This release will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original groundbreaking four-pair collection that first captivated football boot enthusiasts and fashion collectors in 2006. Massive thanks to Elden Monitors & House of Heat°.
Originally launched ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, the Y-3 +F50 Tunit pack stood out for its audacious and artistic designs. Each boot in the collection maintained the innovative Tunit system's performance elements but featured eye-catching interpretations of a tiger, dragon, eagle, and wolf across their synthetic AdiHex microfiber uppers. These striking designs were inspired by the work of fellow artist Taishi Hayashi. The original release was highly limited, arriving in unique cage-like packaging to further enhance the "wild" concept.
Adidas Y-3 F50 "Beast Pack" 2026 Retro Football Boots Lifestyle Collection
The Adidas Y-3 2026 retro collection will faithfully reprise all four original styles: Tiger, Dragon, Eagle, and Wolf.
Each pair closely follows the design DNA of its 2006 predecessor. However, some modifications are apparent:
- The +F50 branding across the upper appears to be abandoned for a cleaner look.
- The original firm ground (FG) stud system is replaced with a flat, evenly-laid out configuration, suggesting these retros are designed for off-pitch, street, or lifestyle wear. While not identical to the upcoming F50 Adiframe, the tooling is described as much wider than current Adidas Football boot setups.
- A velcro-assisted shroud covers a traditional lacing system. The underside of this shroud reveals Y-3's logo and markings connecting the years 2026 and 2006, explicitly confirming the 20th-anniversary celebration.

This isn't the first time Yamamoto has revisited the beastly theme. In 2014, similar animal-inspired graphics were applied to the adizero f50, alongside a special kit for Real Madrid.
Footy Headlines knows that the Adidas Y-3 F50 "Beast Pack" 2026 collection is set to launch in April 2026. It's unlikely the pairs will arrive in the original ornate cage packaging, but Adidas and Y-3 may opt for experimental marketing or activations to mark this special anniversary.

Special Commemorative Patches for 1000th FIFA World Cup Match
To mark a significant milestone in football history, special commemorative patches were featured during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group F match between Tunisia and Japan in Monterrey. The fixture officially marked the 1000th match in the history of the tournament.
In recognition of the occasion, both the Japan and Tunisia national teams wore mini Match 1000 arm patches on their jerseys. The special detailing was spotted on the players' kits during the game, as well as on the shirts laid out in the dressing rooms beforehand.
The commemorative design was not limited to the competing teams, as the match officials also wore the Match 1000 patch on their referee kits. This subtle yet historic addition provided a unique touch to the kits for the milestone game.
