We can see the "MX" pattern integrated into the central stripes of the shirt - a design element that was later carried over to the Mexico 2026 third kit.
Update - Wednesday, July 8, 2026: We have a leaked promotional image showing the rejected Mexico 2026 World Cup home kit. With Mexico being eliminated from the 2026 World Cup now and the redesigned 2026 World Cup being a sales success, the whole thing is history - the next Adidas home kit will be launched in late 2027.

Update - Jun 16, 2025: Adidas and the Mexican Football Federation have decided to completely change the design of the Mexico 2026 World Cup home kit. The new Mexico 2026 home kit will be inspired by the 1998 World Cup home jersey, instead of the original center-stripe design. This has now been confirmed by kit insider @hendocfc.
Mexican journalist Martín del Palacio (@martindelp) was the first to report that Adidas had scrapped the original design. The new design will be inspired by the France 1998 World Cup jersey.

Premium Material Returns to the World Cup Champions Badge
Alongside the second star above the crest, Spain officially unveiled a new 3D embossed World Champions badge during their recent 3-2 victory over England in the UEFA Nations League. This badge previously appeared on Spain's jersey after their 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph.
Compared to the heat-applied plastic version seen on Argentina's kits, the new badge from Cromotransfer offers a significantly more premium look, featuring an embossed surface and a multi-layered structure. Before that, Adidas has increasingly shifted to pre-applying tournament and champions badges directly in its manufacturing facilities.
However, this upgrade will be exclusive to the authentic player-version jerseys. The fan-version replica shirts will continue to feature the standard heat-transferred plastic badge.
