Heavy & Uncomfortable: Barcelona Players Unhappy With Material of Nike 25-26 Kits

  • Material Issues: Barcelona players are unhappy with the new Nike 2025-26 kits due to issues with sweat absorption, weight, and overall comfort, particularly in hot and humid conditions.
  • Player Concerns: Key players, like Raphinha, have voiced their concerns, questioning why other Nike-sponsored teams aren't experiencing the same issues with the supposedly same DRI-FIT ADV technology.
  • Inconsistent Performance: Despite using the same DRI-FIT ADV technology as previous kits and receiving praise during the 2025 Club World Cup, the new Barcelona kits are facing criticism, raising questions about material batch or construction.

Several FC Barcelona players have reportedly complained about the material of the new Nike 2025-26 kits, citing significant issues with sweat absorption, weight, and comfort.

The problem became particularly apparent during the club's pre-season tour in the hot and humid conditions of South Korea and Japan, affecting both the new match kits and training wear.

Nearly a month ago, during the pre-season friendly tour in South Korea and Japan, the players complained about the quality of the Nike kits in the hot weather conditions of the two countries.

The main complaints are:

  • The fabric quickly becomes soaked through.
  • It gains significant weight when wet.
  • It clings to the body, causing major discomfort for the players during training and matches.

Key squad members, including Raphinha, have reportedly voiced their concerns. The Brazilian winger even questioned why other Nike-sponsored teams, such as the Brazil national team (CBF), do not seem to be experiencing the same problem.

Same Tech, Different Result?

What makes these complaints particularly interesting is that the new Nike 25-26 authentic kits still use the same DRI-FIT ADV technology as the previous 24-25 season's kits. There was no major change in the underlying material technology.

This is also surprising given that Nike's fabric performance was widely praised during the recent 2025 Club World Cup, where it was often rated as superior to Adidas and Puma in its ability to handle heat and sweat. This raises questions about whether this is an issue with a specific batch of material or the construction of Barcelona's kits.
