Nike Could Sell Scrapped Red Jordan Brazil 2026 Away Kit & Jacket

  • Scrapped Red Kit: Nike is considering selling the scrapped red Jordan Brazil 2026 away kit due to production timelines and existing stock.
  • Fan Backlash: The red kit, leaked in April 2025, faced significant opposition from Brazilian fans and media, leading to its cancellation.
  • Production Costs: Selling the kit could help Nike recover production costs and provide fans with a unique collector's item.

Update: Footy Headlines can continue to leak that Nike is still planning to release the original red Brazil 2026 away kit (which was scrapped). It is reportedly still available for retailers. The black/red Jordan jacket design is also likely to be in a similar situation.

25 August 2025: Despite the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) officially canceling the controversial red Jordan Brazil 2026 away kit, Footy Headlines has received information that Nike is now considering selling the scrapped jersey to the public.

This could give fans a chance to own a unique piece of "what if" history - the kit that was produced but never worn.

Nike Could Sell Scrapped Red Jordan Brazil 2026 Away Kit

To recap one of the biggest kit stories of the year: Footy Headlines first leaked in April 2025 that Brazil's 2026 World Cup away kit would be a revolutionary red color and made by the Jordan brand.

The leak was met with a massive backlash from Brazilian fans and media, who strongly opposed the use of a color not traditionally associated with the Seleção.

Due to the immense public pressure, the new CBF president announced in June that the red kit had been scrapped, and Brazil would wear their traditional blue for the away strip at the 2026 World Cup.

Why Nike Might Sell It: Production Timelines

The design, development, and production cycle for a World Cup kit is a long process, often taking between 18-24 months.

This means that by the time the kit was leaked in April 2025, mass production was likely already well underway. As a result, it is highly probable that thousands of the red Jordan Brazil kits have already been produced and are currently sitting in Nike's warehouses.

Instead of destroying the stock, Nike is now exploring the option of selling these kits. They could be released as a special edition or collector's item alongside the official new blue away kit.

This would be a way for Nike to recoup some production costs and offer fans a unique piece of kit history.

While Brazil will not wear red on the pitch in the 2026 World Cup, fans may still have the chance to own the controversial kit. This is not yet officially confirmed by Nike, but it is a strong possibility given the circumstances.
