Adidas Trionda 2026 World Cup Ball Leaked - Official Match Ball vs Competition vs League vs Club

  • Adidas Trionda 2026 World Cup Ball: The official ball of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, named Trionda, combines 'Tri' for the three host nations and 'Onda' for 'wave' in Spanish and Portuguese, featuring colors from the US, Canadian, and Mexican flags.
  • Ball Versions and Features: There are four main versions of the Adidas 2026 World Cup ball: the Official Match Ball ($170) with a thermally bonded seamless surface, the Competition model ($65) for advanced players, the League edition ($45) for amateur training, and the entry-level Club version ($32) for recreational play.
  • Performance vs. Price: While the Official Match Ball is the highest quality, it may not be the best value, as the takedown versions offer similar features at lower prices, making the OMB a premium choice for those wanting to play with the same ball as the professionals.

The adidas Trionda, official ball of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, will be released in the coming weeks (likely in early October). Footy Headlines can leak the four different main versions of the Adidas 2026 World Cup soccer ball.

Adidas Trionda 2026 World Cup Ball Versions

The 2026 World Cup ball is named Trionda, a combination of Tri – referencing the three host nations – and Onda, the Spanish and Portuguese word for “wave.” The design uses the colors of the US, Canadian and Mexican flags, creating a vibrant visual identity. Technically, the Trionda follows in the footsteps of the 2014 Brazuca, with a four-panel construction aimed at improving aerodynamics and consistency.

The different versions of the Adidas 2026 World Cup football are incredibly hard to distinguish from afar, and even from up close. Adidas apparently did not want to put extra effort into making them too different in terms of panels and design.

Official Match Ball – $170

The premium model will be used in all 2026 World Cup matches. It features a thermally bonded seamless surface for a more predictable trajectory, better touch and minimal water uptake. Made from high-end materials with a polyurethane outer, recycled polyester backing and a butyl bladder, it is FIFA Quality Pro Approved for professional play.

Competition – $65

The Competition model is designed for advanced players who want a ball close to the OMB but at a lower price point. It is seamless, FIFA Quality Pro certified, and has a leather-like grain finish for a premium feel. It looks nearly identical to the OMB.

For the first time with a takedown Adidas ball, the Competition comes with grooves, a feature previously exclusive to the best version.

League – $45

The League edition is aimed at training and match use at the amateur level. It is also seamless and standard FIFA certified, ensuring reliable performance and durability. While more affordable, it retains the Trionda design language and is a popular middle-ground choice.

Interestingly, even the League version has grooves.

Club – $32

Finally, the Club version is the entry-level ball - we would strictly avoid buying that version, as it won't last long. With a machine-stitched TPU outer and a butyl bladder, it is made for recreational play (and will fall apart quickly). It mimics the look of the Trionda but is built for accessibility rather than professional performance.

Mini

There is also a Mini version of the ball, plus probably differently colored takedowns, futsal, beach, and other versions.

Summary

When looking at the different tiers and comparing them in detail, it becomes obvious that the OMB might be the best ball, but surely not the best in terms of price-performance. You are really paying for playing with the same as the Pros, here.
