The 2026 World Cup kits clearly highlight the brand’s ongoing commitment to coordinated yet diverse color schemes. This isn’t a sudden shift away from monochrome - Adidas have been experimenting with mixed-color combinations for several years now - but for 2026, it seems they’re refining the concept even further.

Traditional setups like Germany’s white shirts and black shorts or Mexico’s green, white, and red tricolor remain, but there are plenty of new touches. Spain’s off-white away kit features maroon shorts and socks for a richer contrast, and Germany's away kit has striking turquoise shorts and socks. The socks also come with bespoke designs for teams, such as Germany’s home socks, matching the design of the shirt. This further shows how much attention Adidas is giving to creating visually complete outfits.

However, it’s also an interesting question how often these combinations will actually appear during matches. FIFA has long favored monochrome kits to avoid color clashes and improve visual clarity, which could limit how often these mix-and-match designs are used in real competition.
