The Marathon Sports Ecuador 2025 special jersey marks a departure from La Tri's traditional yellow, blue and red colors. Made by Marathon, the all-black design commemorates the first kit ever worn by the Ecuadorian national team at the 1938 Bolivarian Games, where they debuted in a black shirt.
According to the Ecuadorian Football Federation, the kit represents a tribute to the nation's footballing heritage. "This shirt accompanied our beginnings and shaped the dreams that today unite and excite an entire country. We return to our origins not to look back with nostalgia, but to remember the goals we have achieved with courage, effort and pride," the FEF explained.
The Marathon Sports Ecuador 2025 special shirt will debut in friendlies against Canada on November 13 in Toronto and New Zealand on November 18 in New Jersey. Importantly, this kit is not part of the collection that will be used at the 2026 World Cup, where Ecuador will compete after securing qualification.
