- Adidas Trefoil 2026 World Cup Away Kits: Adidas is bringing back the Trefoil logo for all national team away kits at the 2026 World Cup, launching in March 2026, with standout designs for teams like Japan and Belgium.
- Nike 2026 World Cup National Team Kits: Nike will launch new Aero-Fit kits for major national teams in March 2026, featuring their biggest innovation in football kits since 2016.
2026 is set to be one of the most significant years in football kit and boot history for a long time. With the World Cup coming to North America, brands have planned major innovations and special releases.
1. Next-Gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 11 & Vapor 17
The Nike Mercurial 2026 Superfly soccer cleats ditch the high collar after 12 years.
Nike is ending a 12-year era with the next-generation Mercurial boots. For the first time since 2018, the Vapor and Superfly will be fundamentally different boots rather than just collar variations. The Superfly 11 drops the Dynamic Fit collar entirely, returning to a low-cut design for the first time since 2014. It features FlyWeave Ultra upper and an upgraded Air Zoom unit with three extra studs. Meanwhile, the Vapor 17 gets the new Atomknit upper technology, lighter than Flyknit with better containment. Both launch in June 2026, just in time for the World Cup.
Gold Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly 1 CR7 2026 World Cup Boots Leaked
Adding to the excitement, Nike is also releasing a stunning remake of the 2009 Mercurial Vapor Superfly 1, combining the original etched upper pattern with a modern soleplate. The "Regen" edition will feature a Metallic Gold Star/White colorway, likely timed for Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup.
2. Adidas Trefoil 2026 World Cup Away Kits
Adidas is bringing back the Trefoil logo for all national team away kits at the 2026 World Cup. This marks the first time in decades the retro logo will feature on tournament kits at the highest level. We've seen leaks of 20+ away kits, with standout designs including Japan's lovely off-white & multicolor away kit, Belgium's artistic 'soap bubble' design, and Peru's black and tricolor kit (which we will not see in the 2026 World Cup, unfortunately). All Adidas away kits launch in March 2026. The Trefoil strategy extends to club football too, with the logo set to appear on 26-27 away kits across Europe (they also featured on the third kits in the last two seasons, but in 26-27, many more teams will get the Trefoil).
3. New Football Boots
These are the first 2026 World Cup soccer boots we know (Mercurial not 100% confirmed as World Cup-edition yet).
For boot aficionados, the stream of interesing products virtually never stops, but a World Cup year usually brings just that bit more. Adidas and Nike will release many special-edition cleats.
Adidas will launch 'EQT' boots to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Equipment line. A Zidane x Adidas 30-year anniversary edition, plus signature editions for at least Yamal, Rodman, Bellingham, and Messi, plus retired legends Kaka and Beckham.
Nike, meanwhile, brings us the already mentioned CR7 signature boots, plus new signature editions for Haaland, Vinicius Jr, Mbappe, Putellas, and Sam Kerr.
4. Nike 2026 World Cup National Team Kits
Possibly the biggest launch of 2026 is the Nike 2026 national team kits. While the first wave of World Cup kits landed in November & December 2025 from Adidas and Puma, Nike will launch their new Aero-Fit kits for Brazil, England, Croatia, Nigerua, the USMNT and more teams in March 2026. The Aero-Fit material is Nike's biggest innovation in football kits since the Vaporknit from 2016.

5. 26-27 Club Kits
As always, a new year also brings us thousands of new kits. Most important are those for the "New Season", of course. Leaked so far has been that Bayern (FINALLY AGAIN) gets a classic home kit, Madrid goes for an odd white, green, and pink look, while Barcelona yet again gets some unique stripes - you can check all information in the ever-updated Kit Overview (it updates automatically, so you always get the latest info there).
Nike goes back to the 1996 Premier era for their 2026-2027 third kits, following the throwback to Toal 90 in the 25-26 season.
