Morocco 2026 World Cup Kit Font Chaos: 2D or 3D?

  • Inconsistency in Kit Font Design: There is a notable difference between the 3D font advertised online by Puma for the Morocco 2026 World Cup kit and the flat 2D font that was actually delivered to the Moroccan national team.
  • Differences in Font Appearance: The promotional images displayed a 3D effect for the back numbers and a 2D style for player names and front numbers, but the physical shirts feature flat 2D numbers on the back, and the colors appear brighter than in the mock-ups.
  • Awaiting Official Confirmation: The official kit font will be determined during Morocco's upcoming friendly match against Ecuador, revealing whether the team will wear the advertised 3D font or the delivered 2D font.

Following the recent launch of the Morocco 2026 World Cup away kit, Puma also introduced the new bespoke kit font that the Atlas Lions are set to wear this summer. However, a rather bizarre situation has unfolded regarding the actual design of this new typography.

Morocco 2026 World Cup Kit Font Chaos

There is currently a glaring inconsistency between the customized kits Puma is advertising online and the physical shirts they have actually delivered to the national team.

If you look at the official promotional images and the customization options on the online Puma store, the new Morocco kit font features a very distinct styling.

According to the brand's official digital renders, the large back numbers are supposed to feature a striking 3D-effect aesthetic, while the player names printed above them remain in a standard flat 2D style. The smaller squad numbers on the front of the chest are also shown in a standard 2D format.

Strangely, the actual physical shirts that Puma handed over to the Moroccan players do not match the brand's own online product listings.

While the small 2D front number is correct, the back of the shirt tells a completely different story. As seen in the official photos of the players holding their new away kits, the large back numbers are printed in a basic, flat 2D style, entirely ditching the advertised 3D shadow effect.

Furthermore, as seen in our side-by-side comparison, the actual colors applied to the physical player-issue print appear noticeably brighter and more vibrant than the deeper tones shown in Puma's digital mock-ups.

To find out exactly which kit font is the official one, we will have to wait for Morocco's upcoming international friendly match against Ecuador. Seeing the kits in action on the pitch will finally reveal whether the flat 2D or the stylized 3D numbers won out.

Do you prefer the 3D numbers shown on the Puma store or the flat 2D numbers the players actually received? Let us know in the comments below!
