Erling Haaland to Headline Returning Nike Hypervenom Boots in 2027

With Nike set to reshape its football boot roster in 2027 by reviving the iconic Hypervenom and discontinuing the Phantom silo, Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland is poised to become the global face of the reborn line.

Haaland to Become the Face of Revived Hypervenom

Nike is preparing to discontinue the entire Phantom silo following the Phantom 6, concluding an eight-year cycle to make room for the revival of the Hypervenom.

The Hypervenom will re-establish Nike's classic three-pillar football lineup alongside the Mercurial speed line and the legendary Tiempo leather franchise. While Vinícius Jr. continues to serve as the premier face of the Mercurial, Haaland will spearhead the return of the lethal finishing silo.

Haaland will not be alone in spearheading the new generation. Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise and two-time Ballon d'Or Féminin winner Alexia Putellas are also set to serve as premier athlete ambassadors for the Hypervenom. Putellas makes the transition after leading the Phantom silo, while Olise's move represents a full-circle moment.

Olise famously played as a boot free agent for years simply to keep lacing up discontinued Hypervenom Phantom III models, before testing a blackout 2027 prototype and officially putting pen to paper with Nike.

For Haaland, the move is also a return to familiar ground. The Norwegian striker laced up the Hypervenom Phantom 3 eight years ago during his early breakthrough in Norway, and he showed his enduring fondness for the concept by wearing the remake of the iconic 2013 Hypervenom 1 towards the tail end of the 2024-25 season.

With Nike phasing out the Phantom line to reboot the beloved agile strike franchise in 2027, placing the world's most lethal goalscorer at the forefront signals a bold and focused new era for the Swoosh.
