Barcelona Forced to Wear 25-26 Orange Kit Against PSG Due to Kit Clash
- Kit Requirement: Barcelona is compelled to wear their 25-26 vibrant orange third kit for their UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
- Reason for Change: UEFA officials and broadcasters intervened because Barcelona's initially planned 26-27 green and teal third kit, along with their home and away kits, were deemed too visually similar to PSG's traditional dark navy home kit, causing a clash.
- Backup Solution: The orange 25-26 third kit was retained as a registered backup fifth kit specifically to address emergency visibility and broadcast issues against dark-colored opponents, which proved necessary in this situation as their other three main kits were unsuitable.

FC Barcelona will wear their vibrant orange third kit from the 25-26 season for their UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday. While initial reports indicated the Blaugrana would give an official on-pitch debut to their new 26-27 green and teal third strip, UEFA kit officials and television broadcast coordinators intervened, deeming the teal design too close in visual tone to PSG's traditional dark navy home kit.
All 3 Barcelona Kits Deemed to Be Too Similar to PSG Home Kit
Barcelona's classic Blaugrana home kit, dark purple away and teal third option were deemed to similar to PSG's home kit, the club had to look beyond their standard three-kit rotation. The Catalan giants had previously retained their bright orange, Total 90-inspired 25-26 third kit as a registered backup fifth kit option for the 26-27 campaign, precisely to solve emergency visibility and broadcast issues against dark-colored opponents.
Barcelona will also release a fourth kit this season that would have provided enough contrast, but it will only be released in 2027.
