Veteran goalkeepers Manuel Neuer and Guillermo Ochoa have both been wearing short-sleeve versions of their respective 2026 national team goalkeeper kits; however, in two matches, they needed to bypass the standard long-sleeve options provided by Adidas.
Neuer Cuts Long-Sleeve Adidas Goalkeeper Kit in First Match
For Germany's opening match, Manuel Neuer was issued a standard long-sleeve kit. Preferring short sleeves, the German shot-stopper took a DIY approach and simply cut the sleeves off with scissors. This modification left a raw, unhemmed edge on the sleeves, clearly showing that the shirt was manually altered for the game.
In the following two matches, Neuer received a short-sleeve keeper kit from Adidas. The Trefoil away was a very unique construction for Neuer, especially.
Ochoa Cuts Trefoil Keeper Kit
Similarly, Guillermo Ochoa was seen wearing a short-sleeve version of the Mexico 2026 away goalkeeper kit during a recent match. Following the same trend as his German counterpart, Ochoa also had his long-sleeve shirt cut to accommodate his preference.

Premium Material Returns to the World Cup Champions Badge
Alongside the second star above the crest, Spain officially unveiled a new 3D embossed World Champions badge during their recent 3-2 victory over England in the UEFA Nations League. This badge previously appeared on Spain's jersey after their 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph.
Compared to the heat-applied plastic version seen on Argentina's kits, the new badge from Cromotransfer offers a significantly more premium look, featuring an embossed surface and a multi-layered structure. Before that, Adidas has increasingly shifted to pre-applying tournament and champions badges directly in its manufacturing facilities.
However, this upgrade will be exclusive to the authentic player-version jerseys. The fan-version replica shirts will continue to feature the standard heat-transferred plastic badge.
