Vinted Under Fire as Legit Football Shirt Seller Faces Automated Ban

  • Automated Account Ban: Vinted banned a legitimate football shirt collector, @thekitsbaia, for alleged fraudulent activity despite listing authentic jerseys with original tags and product codes.
  • Disrupted Sales and Shipping: The ban immediately froze the seller's account, preventing roughly a dozen already-sold shirts from being dispatched due to the inability to generate shipping labels.
  • Recurring Moderation Issues: This incident highlights Vinted's ongoing problem with flawed automated moderation, which repeatedly targets legitimate sellers and retailers while numerous counterfeit items remain untouched on the platform.

Popular resale platform Vinted has once again drawn the frustration of the football shirt community after another legitimate collector and seller was abruptly hit with an automated account ban. Well-known shirt collector @thekitsbaia shared screenshots showing his account suspended for alleged fraudulent activity right in the middle of a major collection clearout, despite listing authentic jerseys complete with original tags and manufacturer product codes. The ban immediately froze his account, leaving roughly a dozen already-sold shirts unable to be dispatched as shipping labels could no longer be generated.

Flawed Vinted Moderation Punishing the Wrong Sellers

This incident is far from an isolated problem for kits. Vinted's automated moderation algorithms have repeatedly clamped down on legitimate collectors and trusted independent retailers who list multiple brand-new items with tags, often misinterpreting genuine stock as commercial policy breaches or counterfeit goods. Just weeks earlier, established dealer Historic Football Shirts suffered a permanent ban over an authentic Nike Liverpool training top.

Meanwhile, thousands of low-grade knockoffs and obvious fakes remain live and untouched across the platform, even after being actively reported.
