On LightSpray Prototype Football Boots

Check out the prototype boots below.

The On LightSpray prototype boots showcase On's groundbreaking LightSpray manufacturing process, adapted from high-performance running into a pure speed boot silhouette.

The upper is constructed without any seams or glue, formed by an automated robotic arm that sprays a continuous thermoplastic filament directly onto a foot last.

This creates an ultra-thin, sock-like structure with an intricate, webbed texture that keeps weight to an absolute minimum while maintaining tensile structure for lockdown.

Stamped along the lateral collar is the internal development code ON-DCPT-KM210, highlighting the boot's development specifically for Kylian Mbappé following his headline switch to the Swiss sportswear brand.

The design remains stark and clinical, dominated by clean off-white tones, minimalist black On logos on the tongue and heel, and subtle LightSpray branding along the lower sidewall.

The underside is equally striking, featuring a pearlescent, iridescent chrome soleplate built for explosive pace. The traction pattern is uncompromisingly aggressive, utilizing sharp chevron and arrow-shaped studs with metallic-tipped cores encased in translucent TPU.

Internally developed under the project codename Tango, On's football boots are being refined with input from Thierry Henry, who leads the brand's football division, and Kylian Mbappé. The first commercial retail models from On are expected to launch in 2027.
