Adidas Creates First-Ever Authentic Climacool+ Referee Kits

  • Groundbreaking Referee Kits: Adidas is introducing its first-ever "authentic" tier of referee kits, utilizing the advanced Climacool+ technology.
  • Elite Performance Technology: These new kits feature the same high-performance fabric structures, engineered knit patterns, and ventilation zones as professional player kits, providing unparalleled breathability and cooling for officials, especially for the 2026 World Cup.
  • Retail Availability Status: The authentic Climacool+ referee shirts are not currently available for retail purchase, and Adidas has not indicated if or when they will be released to the general public.

In a groundbreaking move for match officials, Adidas is producing an "authentic" tier of referee kits equipped with its newly expanded Climacool+ technology. For the first time, referees will be outfitted in the exact same high-performance, elite-tier fabric structures as the professional players they are officiating on the pitch.

We only have low-res images from the official FIFA Match Color report yet, which are not optimal but clearly show off the fabric for the expert eye.

Adidas 2026 World Cup Authentic Referee Kits

The new Adidas 2026 World Cup authentic referee shirts feature the exact same engineered knit pattern, ventilation zones, and advanced moisture-wicking materials found on Adidas' top-tier 2026-2027 player-issue kits. This significant technological upgrade is a highly logical choice ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With referees expected to cover massive amounts of ground in the sweltering North American summer heat, the unparalleled breathability and cooling effects of the Climacool+ fabric will provide a much-needed performance boost for the officials.

These authentic Climacool+ referee shirts are not yet available for retail purchase yet. It remains to be seen if Adidas will eventually release this top-tier version to the public or keep it strictly exclusive to professional tournament referees.

Do you think brands should make authentic-tier referee kits available to buy, or should they remain exclusive to the pros? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Mexico Ruins Retro EQT Jacket with Sponsor Placement

The Adidas Mexico 2026 World Cup EQT track jacket has officially made its real-world debut, but the on-player reality has left many fans disappointed, as highlighted by Tigres and Mexico kit experts @TigersJersey.

While the core design faithfully recreates the iconic 1990s Equipment aesthetic with its bold black, green, white, and red color-blocking, the Mexican Football Federation has plastered the front of the garment with corporate sponsors. The logos for AT&T, Amazon, Coca-Cola, and Caliente.mx have been heavily applied across the midsection, disrupting the 3 bars.

This is surely because of sponsor guidelines and contracts, but they should have find a better solution here.

Norway Shares Striking Viking-Themed Squad Photo for 2026 World Cup

The Norwegian national football team has released a Viking-inspired group photograph via its official channels to mark preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Captured by renowned photographer David Yarrow in Oslo, the image shows the squad in authentic attire assembled beside a fjord, with longboats in the background, reflecting the country's historical narrative and the supporters' Viking row tradition.

Norway returns to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, led by captain Martin Ødegaard and star striker Erling Haaland. The photoshoot took place last weekend, with Ødegaard digitally added after he was unavailable due to the Champions League final. A separate image including coaching and technical staff was also produced.

The NFF embraced the theme to highlight team unity and cultural heritage as the squad prepares for the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
