Umbro Rangers 1987-90 Umbro Remake Kits Released

  • Official Remake Release: Rangers have launched official modern remakes of their iconic 1987-90 Umbro home and away jerseys, faithfully recreating designs from Graeme Souness's successful era.
  • Home Kit Design: The remake home jersey arrives in classic royal blue with a subtle checkerboard jacquard pattern, a ribbed collar with red and white tipping, an embroidered RFC monogram, and the McEwan's Lager sponsor.
  • Away Kit and Authenticity: The away remake revives the famous diagonal half-and-half red and white design with tonal pinstripes, and both shirts feature full Umbro tags and branding as official club heritage collection items available for £50.

Rangers have launched official modern remakes of two of the club's most celebrated vintage shirts: the iconic 1987-90 home and away jerseys. Bearing authentic Umbro branding, the re-releases faithfully recreate the designs worn during Graeme Souness's trophy-laden era at Ibrox, instantly evoking memories of stars like Ray Wilkins, Ally McCoist, and Richard Gough. Huge thanks to TheIbroxChannel for the spot.

Check out the Rangers 87-90 remake kits below.

The Rangers 87-90 remake home jersey arrives in classic royal blue, finished with the distinctive subtle checkerboard jacquard pattern throughout the fabric. It features the ribbed collar detailed with red and white tipping, a single-button placket, the vintage embroidered RFC monogram, and the iconic McEwan's Lager sponsor across the chest.

Alongside it, the away remake revives the famous diagonal half-and-half red and white design complete with tonal pinstripes, complemented by blue branding and sponsors that sport a slightly distressed finish to mimic authentic vintage tops.

Unlike standard generic third-party retro reproductions, both shirts feature full Umbro tags and branding, arriving as part of the club's official heritage collection in partnership with Castore. Both remake shirts are available now through the official Rangers store for £50.

Rangers also released remakes of their Adidas 1990s kits. Here, they did so without the Adidas logos and with the 3 stripes branding slightly distorted due to licensing.
