Nike to Have 3 Main Boot Silos From 2027: Hypervenom, Mercurial & Tiempo

  • Nike's 2027 Boot Silos: From summer 2027, Nike will streamline its football boot lineup to three primary silos: Mercurial, Tiempo, and the returning Hypervenom.
  • Phantom Line Discontinuation: The Phantom line will be discontinued after the Phantom 6 cycle, concluding its eight-year run as a precision and control boot.
  • Hypervenom's Revival: The iconic Hypervenom is being revived as a full-fledged mainline silo, replacing the Phantom line and focusing on agility and finishing, driven by nostalgia and player demand.

Nike is set to undergo a shakeup in its football boot lineup ahead of the 2027-28 season. The Swoosh will keep three primary performance silos, but not the same as before.

Hypervenom In, Phantom Out: Nike 2027 Boot Silos

From summer 2027, Nike will have the Mercurial, the Tiempo, and the returning Hypervenom. This major reshuffle comes as Nike prepares to discontinue the Phantom line following the Phantom 6 cycle, concluding an eight-year run for the precision and control boot. In its place, Nike will revive the iconic Hypervenom as a full-fledged mainline silo for the first time since it was retired in 2019.

Nike's move almost brings back the lineup from 2013, with just the CTR missing. When the original Hypervenom debuted in May 2013 to succeed the Total 90 line, Nike operated a four-silo setup featuring the Mercurial, Tiempo, CTR360 Maestri, and Hypervenom. For 2027, Nike has a trio built around speed (Mercurial), touch and comfort (Tiempo), and agility and finishing (Hypervenom).

The resurgence has been fueled by lingering nostalgia and active player demand, highlighted by Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, who regularly played in vintage pairs and committed his boot future to Nike after testing early 2027 prototypes.
