Manchester is Red - Old Trafford is Being Prepared for the Adidas Kit Launch
The Red Devils will officially reveal the new Adidas Manchester United 15-16 Home Kit on Saturday after a 13-years partnership with Nike. Man Utd will mount a massive through-the-night operation to remove every Swoosh inside and outside Old Trafford.
The challenge is to remove all trace of existing Nike brandings virtually overnight, with United switching to their new sponsors Adidas once the agreement with the US-giants runs out at midnight on July 31.
An Old Trafford source said: “The size of the operation to change from Nike to adidas is huge. We have never undertaken such a massive change-round and it will be a challenge to get it all done as quickly as possible.
Man Utd to Rebrand Stadium, Megastore and Training Complex
Manchester is Red - The new Man Utd 15-16 Kit will be launched on August 1.
It was already reported in mid-April 2015 that "scorers of workers are being lined up" to change the brandings of the stadium, Aon-sponsored training complex and the club Megastore.
Even though the club Megastore is being closed for the rebranding, the club will quid in as the lucrative Megastore is being taken by the Manchester club after it was handed over to Nike as part of their kit deal in 2003.
Most remarkably, Manchester United will remove the famous Nike Swoosh from the East stand, and every Swoosh inside and outside the stadium, how small it may be.
It's almost history. Do you think that the Adidas Man Utd Kit Launch will be the biggest in history? Let us know in the comments below.
The Number on the Egypt Puma Kit Came Off
During Egypt's World Cup match against New Zealand, striker Mostafa Ziko was seen wearing a 'damaged' jersey after one of the digits on the front came off. Although he was wearing the number 11 shirt, one of the "1"s fell off, making it look like he was wearing number 1 instead.
The number appears to have been poorly heat-applied to the jersey and gradually peeled off due to sweat during the game. The incident occurred as Mostafa Ziko celebrated his goal, when one of the digits in his number 11 shirt detached, leaving only a single "1" visible on the front.
