Messi Receives New Camouflaged 2016-17 Adidas Shin Guards
Update: Lionel Messi has received new camouflaged shin pads for the 2016-17 season to match the colors of his brand-new Solar Blue Adidas Messi 16.1 Speed of Light boots.
Leo Messi now even wears camouflaged shin guards. FC Barcelona superstar Leo Messi is Adidas' most important footballer, and therefore the German brand has created camouflaged Adidas shin guards for the Argentinian international.
Shin guards are not seen plenty of times as they are usually hidden behind socks of a player. Therefore, almost all players wear completely custom shin guards featuring slogans, messages or their names of the kids. They rather rarely wear the standard shin guards from the big brands such as Adidas, Nike and Puma.
Messi's Camouflaged Adidas Shin Guards
Custom Messi Shin Guard vs Adidas Messi 10 Shinpads.
Lionel Messi's shin guards featured a custom design using the famous Blaugrana colors, Barcelona's crest, the lettering Leo and his shirt number 10 until some months ago. But more and more frequently, pictures of Barcelona's dressing room made the rounds on social media. So Adidas decided to camouflage Messi's shin guards to look like the standard Adidas Messi 10 Shinpads.
Inspired by the design of the Adidas Messi 15.1 Boots, the Adidas Messi 10 Shinpads are mainly black with a unique light blue geometrical graphic pattern. The upper features the famous Adidas Messi branding and the Adidas Performance logo.
Lionel Messi is likely the only footballer on the planet who wears camouflaged shin guards. Even players such as Neymar enters the pitch wearing custom carbon-fibre shin guards featuring his shirt number 11, a picture and the name of his son and the slogan "Deus é Fiel" (God is the faithful).
Is it exaggerated to create camouflaged shin guards? Let us know in the comments section below.

Adidas Germany 'Alternate History' 1992 Collection Leaked
Update - Friday, May 22, 2026: Thanks to our follower @Julifu90, we have an image of the t-shirt of the Adidas Germany EQT 1992 retro collection. It is set to be released in the coming days.
We have the first image of a unique new Adidas Germany retro jacket, showcasing an intriguing new approach from the sportswear brand.
While the design instantly evokes strong nostalgia for the 1990s, this upcoming release is actually an "alternate history" creation. Despite its highly authentic vintage appearance and period-accurate details, this specific track jacket never actually existed in the official Adidas catalogues during the 1990s, making it a brand new addition to their retro-focused lifestyle collection.
To achieve this convincing old-school aesthetic, Adidas has utilized their classic 1992 template as the structural foundation for the design. The garment features a vibrant green base that heavily nods to Germany's traditional away kits of the era. The colors of the German national flag are cleverly completed on the sleeves through large geometric blocks that also recreate the 3 stripes.
The same jacket will also be released for Spain and other Adidas national teams.
