We already wrote this article two months ago after we gathered the first official details of the Adidas Messi PureAgility 2016-2017 Boots. Since then, various new details and pictures of the boots have been leaked, and Leo Messi also laced up two times (today and yesterday) in a blackout version of his brand-new and almost laceless boots that is even different to the the prototypes he wore in September. Let's get into the all-new Adidas Messi PureAgility Boot.

Upper: Designed for ultimate touch with no distractions, the upper of the all-new Adidas Messi PureAgility 2016 Boots is made from a ultra-thin, one-piece synthetic material. Similar to the Adidas Messi 15.1 Boots, the upper comes with a remarkable Honeycomb structure for increased ball control. But while the first generation of the Adidas Messi Cleats combined the synthetic upper with a traditional tongue and low-cut boot design, the Adidas Messi PureAgility Cleats has much more revolutionary features to offer.
The Adidas Messi PureAgility Football Boot comes without a classic tongue, but features a tongue-less design with extremely short laces to offer a clean striking surface. Adidas combines the tongue-less boot with a techfit collar for a sock-like fit with no distractions. The techfit collar is much lower than the sock-like design of boots such as as the laceless Adidas Ace PureControl and all of Nike's Dynamic Fit collar boots.
It's not too bold to say that the Adidas Messi PureAgility Boot is a perfect hybrid as all upper elements of the boots seamlessly flow into each other.
Sole Plate: The sole plate of the all-new Adidas Messi 2016 PureAgility Soccer Cleats features the same concept as the first generation of the signature boot, made for speed and unrivaled agility with triangular studs. There are no leaked pictures of the sole plate of the Adidas Messi PureAgility Boots yet. However, that's not important as the sole plate of the cleats will be the same as the one of the next-gen low-cut Adidas Messi 16.1 Boots.
The outsole of the Adidas Messi PureAgility 2016 Boots features remarkable small studs with two conical studs in the front and rear area, respectively. The outsole of the Adidas Messi 2016-2018 PureAgility Boots will be promoted as Sprintframe sole plate, just as it was the case with the Adidas F50 Adizero.
Launch Colorway / Release Date:
The Adidas Messi 2016-2017 PureAgility Boots will be launched with a stunning Silver Metallic paint job ahead of the 2016 Copa America. While there are again no leaked pictures of the Adidas Messi PureAgility version, the next-gen low-cut Adidas Messi 2016 Copa America Boot has been already leaked, giving us a first glimpse of how the PureAgility boot will look like.
Versions / Price: The Adidas Messi PureAgility Boots will be the new top version of the Adidas Messi range, retailing at a price of 300 USD (300 Euro, 250 GBP) - it's the same price that Adidas will charge you for the revolutionary laceless Adidas Ace PureControl Boots, which already hit stores on January 19.
There will be no lower-tier versions featuring a laceless design. Adidas will offer four more traditional models of the 2016 Messi Boots (Adidas Messi 16.1, Adidas Messi 16.2, Adidas Messi 16.3, Adidas Messi 16.4). The Adidas Messi 16.1 Boot (200 Euro) is no takedown version, but a high-end model with a traditional concept.
