Dryworld Becomes New Fluminense Kit Supplier + Teases New Fluminense 2016 Kit
Canada-based sports company Dryworld Industries has announced that it will kit out Brazilian giants Fluminense from 2016 in a five-year deal that's reportedly the most valuable to be signed in Brazil in the last five years.
Joining up-and-coming "independent" sportswear brand Dryworld means that Fluminense leaves Adidas after what seems an eternity. The Three Stripes had been kitting out Flu since 1996 in the longest-serving partnership of this kind in the country.
Dryworld x Fluminense
Dryworld will supply the Fluminense kits and training wear for at least until the 2020 season. While no financial details were disclosed, Dryworld claims the agreement is the highest-valued in Brazil in the last five years.
“Fluminense has always been characterized as a pioneering club. This is how we work. Thinking about the best for the club, innovating without fear of challenges. Fluminense and Dryworld share the idea of being innovative and winners together,” said club president Peter Siemsen.
In addition to announcing the Fluminense kit sponsorship, Dryworld allegedly also "accidentally" posted a teaser of the new Fluminense 2016 home shirt on its website, giving fans a first glimpse at what to expected from the brand's first step into football equipment. Whereas the authenticty of the image cannot be verified, the first-ever Dryworld Fluminense jerseys will be unveiled in February 2016.
“By becoming partners with an illustrious club such as Fluminense FC and the loyal fans, who have a very rich history with football in Brazil, we believe Dryworld can become part of the DNA of the sport and a valued part of the culture,” added Brian McKenzie, Co-Founder of Dryworld.
