Adidas Adizero 16 99g - White / Solar Red
This is the new Adidas 99 Gram 2016 football boot.
Inspired by the Adidas Adizero 16 boots, the new limited-edition 99g boots are predominantly white and feature a large Adidas Performance logo on the outstep, colored red. In line with the Adidas X 16+ PureChaos soccer boots, the new Adidas 99g 2016 football shoes boast a metallic sole plate, which fades from red at the front to silver at the rear.
Another Adidas Performance logo is placed on the tongue, reverted in the same style as with the last Adidas 99g boots. Last but not least, the sockliner is red and comes with an Adidas logo as well as a 'Speed of Light'.
Based on the cutting-edge 2013 Adidas 99 gram prototypes and the 2015 Adidas Adizero 99 boots, the new 2016 Adidas 99 Gram boast a thin textile upper made from a single layer of woven polyester, combined with polyurethane to seal the boot. Compared to its predecessors, a few changes appear to have been to the upper and the underlaying support structure of the new Adidas X 2016 99 Gram cleats.
The outsole of the limited-edition Adidas 99g 2015 soccer cleat is a polyamide. Using this material allows Adidas to create a sole plate that is as light as possible while still maintaining the required stability for a soccer boot. The stud layout of the 2016 Adidas 99 Gram boots is identical to the 2015 edition and features triangular studs for instant acceleration and fast movements on firm ground surfaces with three studs in the heel area.
Set to be available from 3 August 2016, the lightweight Adidas Adizero 16 99g soccer cleats retail at $300 (€300, £220 ), the same price as the edition released last year. The Adidas 99 Gram 2016 boots are limited to 299 pairs globally. It is not clear whether they will again be limited to just one size, as it was the case in 2015 (UK 8 1/2 - US 9 - EUR 42 2/3).
