Nike Hypervenom Phantom III - Release Date, Tech, Colorways, Pricing

We can reveal that Nike will unveil the third generation of the Hypervenom in early 2017, around one and a half years after the release of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II in 2015. And not only that, the Nike Hyper Phantom 3 boots will be launched with a striking colorway and introduce a number of interesting technological changes.

Disclaimer: We obtained information on the upcoming Nike Hypervenom Phantom III soccer cleats, but only on that exact version. It's not ruled out that Nike will release an even higher-priced new top model for the third generation of the Hypervenom.

Nike Hypervenom Phantom III - Tech Features

The Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 looks set to get rid of the Dynamic Fit collar.

Just like the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II, the new Nike Hypervenom 3 soccer boots are designed to improve lockdown, ball touch and support dynamic motion.

Most importantly, the upcoming Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 cleats are set to get rid of the heightened 'Dynamic Fit' collar that was introduced with the release of the second generation in 2014.

Additionally, the next-gen Nike Hypervenom boots will boast a pure Flyknit upper, for the first time in the history of the silo. Combined with Flywire strings, a feature that was first seen on the 2014 Hypervenom, and an engineered texture, expected to be similar to what can be seen on the Nike Magista Obra II, the upper of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III is designed to offer ultimate lockdown and an enhanced touch and strike zone.

Last but not least, the sole plate of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II will also change quite a bit. Made of compressed nylon and pebax, it is set to feature an "anatomical design to work naturally with the foot." The stud configuration is changing as well and will bring a mixture of chevron and conical studs for optimized agility.

Nike Hypervenom Phantom III - Launch Colorway

This image shows the colors used for the initial colorway of the upcoming Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 soccer cleats.

At the moment we only have info on one paint job of the Nike Hypervenom III. Set to form part of a bold collection to kick off the new year, the Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 boots will be released in a predominantly green colorway. The so-called Electric Green was already used for one of the most popular Nike Mercurial Superfly IV cleats and will be combined with black, Hyper Orange and Volt.

Nike Hypervenom Phantom III - Pricing

Compared to the current version of the Hypervenom, the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II, retailing at $275 (€275, £230), the next-gen Nike Hypervenom Phantom III cleats will cost a bit less and are set to retail at $260 (€250, £200).

Nike Hypervenom Phantom III - Release Date

The totally new, Flyknit-featuring Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 soccer cleats will be released in early 2017. Part of collection that includes similarly bold paint jobs for the Magista Obra II and Mercurial Vapor XI, the first-ever Nike Hypervenom Phantom III boots are expected to be launched in February 2017.

Adidas Authentic Kit Badge Features Hidden UV Print

A detail on Adidas Authentic kit has drawn attention after being shared by @albxrnxz. The patch labeled "Authentic" reveals additional text when viewed under ultraviolet light. This applies to national team shirts, including those from the Argentina selección, and other recent Adidas kits. The feature serves as an extra verification step beyond standard tags and labels.

The observation highlights how Adidas incorporates advanced elements into its player versions and Authentic products. A heat-applied label combined with UV printing acts as a seal of authenticity, as noted on official product pages for items like the Argentina 2026 jerseys. This helps distinguish genuine merchandise from replicas.

The measure fits into Adidas' updates for the 2026 World Cup collection. Similar hidden UV prints appear in logos and badges across Authentic kits to address counterfeiting concerns. Fans can use a basic UV light to check their jerseys, adding a practical layer for collectors and buyers.
