All-New Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl Boots Released

The second-gen Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl football boots introduce a classy black, red and white Predator-inspired design. The black / red / white Adidas Ace PureControl cleat was released today and is set to be debuted on November 25.

Adidas introduced its first modern laceless football boots, the Ace 16+ PureControl in late 2015 before launching the official first colorway in January this year. For the second generation of the model, Adidas has opted to more or less entirely retain what has worked so well before.

Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl - Red / Core Black / White

This is the launch colorway of the Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl cleats.

Most definitely inspired by one of the brand's most prolific soccer boots ever, the Predator, the first-ever Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl cleats combine black, red and white in a color-blocking design. The rear and heightened collar of the second-gen Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl boots is red, while the front part is black.

White and silver detailing in the form of the lateral 3 Stripes and the view-through Boost midsole round off the clean look of the Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl. The sole plate features a color gradient design.

The new Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl boots feature the same main characteristics as the predecessor. Designed to offer players a clean surface, the black and red Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl cleats come with a laceless construction and a Primeknit upper.

Whereas the upper of the upper is very similar to the first Adidas PureControl, the likely biggest technological improvement between the Adidas Ace 16 and 17+ PureControl (PureControl) boots is the addition of Boost technology in the sockliner and the outsole. Boost is a cutting-edge form of cushioning used in many of Adidas' highly popular running shoes, while it also found its way to soccer shoes more recently. The stud layout of the Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl cleats is virtually unchanged from their predecessor.

The black, red and white next-gen Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl football boots will go on sale on December 1, retailing at the same price as the previous generation ($300, €300, £230).

Headlined by Manchester United midfield maestro Paul Pogba, the Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl boots will also be worn by the likes of Dele Alli, Mesut Özil and Ivan Rakitic.
