Because of... Jonathan De Guzman to Wear Number 1 Shirt
This is against any classic number rules. Italian Serie A side Chievo Verona have handed their No.1 jersey to new signing Jonathan De Guzman.
De Guzman Likes The 'Quite Different' Number
Jonathan De Guzman has already explained why he chose the number 1.
De Guzman, who wore the shirt with number 6 at Napoli before moving to Chievo, has already said that he chose this special jersey number because it would be 'quite an outstanding number' while he also was inspired by legendary Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids, who wore a shirt with number 1 in the 2013-14 season when playing for English League Two club FC Barnet.
Do you think it should be forbidden for 'outfield' players to wear a kit with number 1? Let us know in the comments below.
