Rakitic Reveals Next-Gen Adidas Ace 18+ PureControl Boots
The Adidas Ace 17+ PureControl was only launched around two months ago, but today Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic offers us a first look at what appears to be the next-gen Ace 18+ PureControl.
Rakitic Trains in Blackout Adidas Ace 18+ PureControl Cleats
This image shows Rakitic in training wearing the blacked-out Adidas Ace 2018 boots.
Completely blacked-out and pictured from an unusual angle, we can't really say a lot about the boots Rakitic wore in training. It has to be assumed that they are the succeeding model of the current Ace 17+ PureControl, for the fact that they have a laceless, albeit distinctively different from the 17+ construction.
We can clearly see the inner side of the next-gen Adidas Ace 18+ PureControl and it's quite obvious that the collar part goes down further than on either Ace 16 and 17, even meeting what looks like an enlarged heel counter.
Other than that, the upper of the supposed Adidas Ace PureControl 2018 soccer cleats has a more leathery look to it, at least in this blacked-out state. The sole plate of the Ace 18+ PureControl is also pictured, but not a lot has changed in that regard, judging from this first look.
On top of that, it has to be said that these likely Adidas Ace 18+ PureControl football boots look almost nothing like what was revealed by Footy Headlines collaborator Eial back in September. In fact, that leak looks more like an internal Adidas concept each day.
We cannot confirm this right now, but going by the experience of the first two generations, the upcoming Adidas Ace 18 football boots will be launched in late 2017 or early 2018. Stay tuned for updates as we receive more info.

A v-neck collar adds to the design.
The Plymouth Argyle 26-27 home jersey returns to a darker shade of the club's traditional Argyle green, which a retail survey showed was preferred by 75% of fans. Early images highlight a classy pinstripe pattern and the smart collar detail that evokes a retro 1980s vibe.

Milan 26-27 Home Kit Debuted
AC Milan debuted their new 2026-27 home kit in yesterday’s final Serie A match. The design brings back the club’s traditional striped look for home games.
However, it turned into a disappointing debut, as the team suffered a 1-2 defeat to Cagliari Calcio, consequently missing out on qualification for the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League.
Adidas x KITH x Messi Special Collection Drops May 29
Kith and adidas Football have teamed up with Lionel Messi for a collection marking the 20th anniversary of the player's first World Cup appearance in 2006 and Kith's 15th anniversary. The three-way collaboration includes Argentina-inspired jerseys co-designed with Messi to his exact specifications. Early previews feature designs with the star's "M" logo, Kith branding, adidas elements, and numbers including 10 and 19, nodding to different stages of his international career.
Ronnie Fieg has shared multiple looks via social media showing various colorways and styles that blend football heritage with Kith's aesthetic. The collection is scheduled to release on May 29, 2026, through Kith.com, with a broader range of apparel, footwear, and accessories expected alongside the jerseys.
The project comes ahead of the 2026 World Cup and aligns with Messi's time at Inter Miami. Additional details on pricing and the full lineup will be confirmed closer to the launch date.
