Qatar Airways is set to become Chapecoense's new jersey sponsor, according to Brazilian source UOL. It would be Qatar Airways' first big sponsor deal in Brazil.
Chapecoense to Sign Multi-Year Qatar Airways Sponsorship Deal
This is how Chapecoense's new kit could look like with Qatar Airways on the front (via Marca de Gol).
Chapecoense's sponsorship deal with Brazilian bank Caixa run out in December, and therefore Chapecoense's jersey boasted the phrase "Become a Partner" on the front.
The negotiation between the club is reported to have started after the President of the Qatar Football Association, Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Than, visited Chapecoense at the end of the year. The new Chapecoense Qatar Airways sponsorship deal is expected to be much more worth than their deal with Caixa, which was worth R$ 4 milhões per year (€ 1.2m)
