Fans Rave as Seattle Sounders Become First MLS Team to Add Championship Stars to Replica Jerseys
In part thanks to protests from the club's many supporters, MLS club Seattle Sounders has announced that its replica jerseys become the league's first to include championship stars - the feature had been reserved to the more expensive authentic version before.

Seattle Sounders won the MLS Cup last season which means that this is the first season in club history that the coveted star appears on the jerseys. Usually in MLS, championship stars are limited to the more expensive authentic jerseys, which excludes fans who don't want to spend insane amounts on the garms worn on-pitch and, more importantly, women for there is only a replica women's cut available.
Since this revolutionary change was only reached now, the first Seattle Sounders replica tops featuring the stars will only be available later this year. Therefore, the club offers fans in possession of any of this season's three jerseys to have the star added to it for a $5 fee.
“Sounders FC has always been a team that has a special connection with its fans, and a team that is guided by the principle of democracy in sports, thereby giving our supporters a voice,” said Bart Wiley, Sounders FC Chief Operating Officer.
Unfortunately for fans of the MLS' other 21 teams, this change only applies to Seattle Sounders so far, but we expect it to be picked up elsewhere in the near future.

We have the first image of a unique new Adidas Germany retro jacket, showcasing an intriguing new approach from the sportswear brand.
While the design instantly evokes strong nostalgia for the 1990s, this upcoming release is actually an "alternate history" creation. Despite its highly authentic vintage appearance and period-accurate details, this specific track jacket never actually existed in the official Adidas catalogues during the 1990s, making it a brand new addition to their retro-focused lifestyle collection.
To achieve this convincing old-school aesthetic, Adidas has utilized their classic 1992 template as the structural foundation for the design. The garment features a vibrant green base that heavily nods to Germany's traditional away kits of the era. The colors of the German national flag are cleverly completed on the sleeves through large geometric blocks that also recreate the 3 stripes.
The same jacket will also be released for Spain and other Adidas national teams.
