Adidas have hidden a clever tribute to River Plate's iconic identity on the club's 2026-27 home socks. Rather than using a standard "RIVER" wordmark, the German brand has subtly reshaped one side of the "V" to recreate the club's famous red diagonal sash.

The detail references one of football's most recognizable shirt designs. According to club tradition, River Plate's iconic sash originated in 1905, when members of the club took a red ribbon from a carnival parade and placed it diagonally across a plain white shirt, creating a design that has remained synonymous with the Argentine giants ever since.

This detail does not appear on the black sock option.

River Plate has debuted the upcoming Adidas Stadium jacket, inspired by the 1994 World Cup template and given to more than a dozen of Adidas teams.

Adidas and River Plate have officially launched the club's new home kit and full collection for the 26-27 season. The home jersey retains River Plate's iconic white base with the traditional red diagonal sash across the chest, complemented by sleek black detailing. Alongside the primary uniform, the full 26-27 range includes black shorts, a light green goalkeeper shirt, retro-inspired track jackets, training tops, and lifestyle accessories.

The new River Plate 2026-27 away kit has now been spotted on sale in stores. Its official launch is just around the corner.

The River Plate 2026-27 away kit has a white base with wide vertical red stripes outlined by black, featuring the Trefoil logo and a full-color River Plate crest.

The kit commemorates River Plate's 125th anniversary (1891-2026) with a special roundel design on the back, including a laurel wreath and the text "25 de mayo de 1901".
