Overview: Here Are All 22 MLS 2017 Home & Away Kits

It's just a few days until the 2017 MLS season kicks off with Portland Timbers taking on Minnesota United - it's the perfect time to sit back and review this season's new (and carried over) kits for all 22 teams.

More so than in previous season's, a clear pattern is visible in universal jersey supplier Adidas' effort, which is not a bad thing in itself. But see for yourself.

Atlanta United

Coached by former Barcelona and Argentina manager Gerardo "Tata" Martino, Atlanta United received two new jerseys from Adidas thanks to being one of two new teams in MLS this year. Whereas the home sports a black and red striped look, the away has an unusual light grey base color.

Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire received a new away kit for the 2017 season, with the home uniform carried over from last year. Adidas and the club opted for a grey base with navy and red detailing and a subtle melange material pattern.

Colorado Rapids

Colorado Rapids' traditional and classy home attire was complemented by a yellow, blue and red effort, inspired by the Colorado flag, for 2017.

Columbus Crew

Not only did the Columbus Crew get a new home uniform this year, it also reverted the colors compared to the previous effort, which is now used in away games instead.

D.C. United

Inspired by club crest and traditional Indian headdresses, the new DC United away shirt introduces a rather special design to complement the understated and clean home uniform.

FC Dallas

The new Dallas 2017 away kit boasts a unique graphic on the front that derives from the clear Texas night skies and will be used in addition to the carry-over home uniform with its hoop pattern on the front.

Houston Dynamo

"Space City Blue" makes its return for the Houston Dynamo 2017 home kit.

LA Galaxy

Definitely one of the most well-known and successful clubs in the league, LA Galaxy updated its away uni ahead of the 2017 MLS season. It is dark blue with a subtle melange pattern and yellow and light blue accents.

Minnesota United FC

The second new team besides Atlanta is Minnesota United. Since Minnesota joining the league was only confirmed a few months ago, Adidas didn't have enough time to create bespoke and unique kits for them. Here's hope for two new jerseys next season.

Montreal Impact

One of the three Canadian clubs in the MLS, Montreal Impact introduced a crisp, clean white away kit ahead of the new season to complement its Inter-like home uniform.

New England Revolution

New England Revolution opted for a half-and-half look with the new 2017 away kit.

New York City FC

Yet another classy look and an interesting alternative to sister club Manchester City's Nike shirts, NYCFC received a new home kit to complement the rather unique away kit that was debuted last year.

New York Red Bulls

The other New York club, Red Bulls made the biggest change to its home kit in years, introducing a design with diagonal striping across the front.

Orlando City SC

The new Orlando City home kit is another one to feature a melange design.

Philadelphia Union

The Philadelphia Union 2017 away kit introduces a very smooth look in white with gold details and dark blue insets and sleeves.

Portland Timbers

The Portland Timbers 2017 home jersey has a very classy look in green and gold to complement the spectacular red-black away uni.

Real Salt Lake

One of the cleanest looks in the whole league, the Real Salt Lake 2017 away kit is one of those designs that will grow over time, we think.

San Jose Earthquakes

Once again inspired by the club crest, the San Jose Earthquakes home kit has a very distinct graphic print, predominantly on lower right of the shirt.

Seattle Sounders FC

The only team in the league to have a third kit right now, Seattle Sounders unveiled a new away shirt ahead of the 2017 season. It draws inspired from the jerseys worn in the earliest years of the club.

Sporting Kansas City

Easily one of the most compatible home-away combos, Sporting Kansas City launched a new home kit ahead of the season, alongside a slight update to the sponsor logo which also made its way onto the away top.

Toronto FC

Having narrowly missed out on the MLS title the last time, Toronto will try again wearing a new look in red with charcoal details. The garish away uni was carried over.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Completing the 2017 lineup for the MLS are the Vancouver Whitecaps, with the club releasing yet another jersey that derives from a feature of its home city and surrounding region. This time it's Vancouver status as "Rain City" that lead to a a triangle pattern on front and sleeves. The away kit was carried over, as is tradition.

22 teams, 45 kits in total. Which MLS team has the best set of kits for the 2017 season? Let us know your opinion in the comments below, and check out the first 17-18 jersey leaks for the European leagues in our Kit Overview.

Derbystar Austrian Bundesliga 26-27 Match Ball Revealed

The Austrian ADMIRAL Bundesliga and technical partner Derbystar have officially unveiled the new official match ball for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. The new ball already made an early on-pitch debut last weekend during the crucial final round of the current campaign. Starting next season, the new design will be used uniformly across the top-flight ADMIRAL Bundesliga, the 2. Liga, and the Frauen-Bundesliga.

The Derbystar Austrian Bundesliga 26-27 match ball is heavily inspired by the ultimate goal of the domestic season: the championship trophy. Moving away from the vibrant magenta and turquoise of the previous campaign, the 26-27 ball features a classic black-and-white base enhanced by modern graphic applications.

The artwork intricately incorporates depictions of the trophies from all three participating leagues. Crucially, the design pays a special tribute to the iconic gold "Meisterteller" (Champions Plate), specifically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the famous trophy's first-ever presentation to the league winners back in 1977.

In addition to the standard primary match ball, Derbystar has also developed a vibrant High-Visible variant specifically designed for optimal tracking during poor weather or snowy winter conditions.

What do you think of this trophy-inspired black and white design for the new Austrian Bundesliga ball? Let us know in the comments below.

Adidas Italy 1992 Retro T-Shirt Leaked

We can leak the first images of a new Adidas Italy retro lifestyle t-shirt.

As part of a wider Originals collection aimed at national teams, this new piece brings a strong 1990s aesthetic back to the modern era. The release highlights the German brand's continuing strategy of mining its extensive design archives to create bespoke, off-pitch apparel for its top-tier federations.

The Adidas Italy retro t-shirt features a clean, off-white base color that immediately establishes a classic throwback feel. Drawing direct inspiration from the colors of the Italian national flag, the shirt incorporates striking green, white and red geometric blocks.

Adding heavily to the nostalgic appeal, the chest displays a centralized logo arrangement, featuring a classic Adidas wordmark and Trefoil paired with a faithful recreation of the historic Italian Football Federation crest used throughout the early 1990s.

Other Adidas federations will get the same range in their colors.

Adidas Germany 'Alternate History' 1992 Retro Jacket Leaked

We have the first image of a unique new Adidas Germany retro jacket, showcasing an intriguing new approach from the sportswear brand.

While the design instantly evokes strong nostalgia for the 1990s, this upcoming release is actually an "alternate history" creation. Despite its highly authentic vintage appearance and period-accurate details, this specific track jacket never actually existed in the official Adidas catalogues during the 1990s, making it a brand new addition to their retro-focused lifestyle collection.

To achieve this convincing old-school aesthetic, Adidas has utilized their classic 1992 template as the structural foundation for the design. The garment features a vibrant green base that heavily nods to Germany's traditional away kits of the era. The colors of the German national flag are cleverly completed on the sleeves through large geometric blocks that also recreate the 3 stripes.

The same jacket will also be released for Spain and other Adidas national teams.

Jesse Lingard Wears 'J Lingz' on His Corinthians Kit

Former Manchester United and England midfielder Jesse Lingard yesterday night wore a unique name on the back of his shirt for his current club, Corinthians.

During the Brazilian side's Copa do Brasil clash against Barra FC, Lingard took to the pitch with his popular moniker, 'J Lingz', printed above his squad number. Rather than a permanent vanity choice by the 33-year-old, this unusual kit alteration was part of a coordinated, team-wide initiative where all Corinthians players swapped their traditional names for their recognizable nicknames.

The temporary name changes were implemented as part of a promotional campaign for Brazil's Generic Drug Day, which is officially celebrated on May 20th. Driven by pharmaceutical brand Hypera, the initiative aimed to highlight the importance and reliability of generic medications in public health. By replacing the players' standard names with their nicknames, the club and the sponsor sought to creatively demonstrate that even if the name on the back is different, the player - and by extension, the generic medication - delivers the exact same performance and effect.

Lingard joined the Brazilian giants in March following a stint in South Korea with FC Seoul.
