Atlético Paranaense Refuses to Use & Sell Umbro 2018 World Cup Nations Kit

Last week, UK brand Umbro have released the 'Umbro Nations' collection for their Brazilian Brasileirão teams to celebrate this summer's World Cup. Now Brazilian club Atlético Paranaense release a statement that they will not use the jersey Umbro designed for the club.

Atlético Paranaense Will Not Wear and Sell Umbro 2018 Nations Kit

Atlético PR said that the Umbro jersey that is inspired by Spain was neither accepted nor approved by the club and that, therefore, will not be used in an official match.

The yellow and red colors of the jersey (in reference to the Spanish selection) generated a negative repercussion amongst the fans as it has no reference to the club while also being the colors of one of their rivals.

"The Official supplier of Atletico Paranaense uniforms, Umbro, has launched a collection of shirts to celebrate the great nations of world football, called the Nations project. The design of Atlético Paranaense's shirt, yellow with details in red, was not approved by the Club. In this way, the Hurricane will not use or market the shirt launched last Friday," the statement on the website said.
