Mbappé 'Leaks' Spectacular Nike Mercurial Superfly VI 1998 Boots

PSG and France superstar Kylian Mbappé has given us a first look at the next Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 VI football boots today - a remake of the iconic 1998 Mercurial worn by legendary Brazil striker Ronaldo at the France World Cup.

Nike Mercurial Superfly VI 1998 Remake

This picture shows the 1998 - 2018 Nike Mercurial Superfly 6 cleat.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the OG Nike Mercurial and Nike celebrate it with a special design for the Mercurial Superfly 360 that debuted earlier this year.

The Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 1998 remake boots have a silver metallic upper with the iconic blue and yellow wave pattern featuring on the sides. The Swooshes are yellow with a black outline and appear in their traditional spots along the sides, just like on the original.

Unlike on the last 1998-inspired Nike Mercurial remake, the collar on this one is silver / light grey, creating a more streamlined and intriguing look. A silver-metallic split sole plate completes the look.

Set to be launched shortly, the 1998 remake Nike Mercurial Superfly 6 cleats should be launched shortly, either as a Nike iD modification option or a limited-edition drop. The price will be slightly higher than the regular USD 300 (EUR 290, GBP 250).

Kylian Mbappe to Wear Special World Cup 'Top Scorer' Patch

Kylian Mbappe will wear a special insignia on his France kit to commemorate his achievement as the top scorer of the 2022 World Cup. Following his Golden Boot win in Qatar, where he scored eight goals, the French captain's jersey now features a dedicated patch recognizing this individual accolade.

This addition comes as part of a wider trend of specialized badges seen on national team kits during the 2026 World Cup. Alongside standard tournament patches, various players have been spotted wearing insignias denoting their debut or legacy status.
