Better Durability? Nike Changes Upper of Nike Hypervenom Phantom III Boots

We can exclusively reveal that Nike has updated the upper of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 football boots. The new upper of the Nike Hypervenom 3 football shoe was already introduced with the special Nike Hypervenom Phantom III Game of Gold football boot and has been used for all Nike Hypervenom boots since then.

Nike Updates Upper Of Nike Hypervenom Phantom III Football Boots

The updated Nike Hypervenom Phantom III football boot comes with a new texture on the upper. The new texture is thicker and completely synthetic. Nike has not announced why they changed the upper. It is most likely that the new upper texture provides better durability.

Interestingly, the Nike Mercurial Superfly & Vapor 360 soccer cleats come with a very thin upper texture that is only applied to very specific parts of the boots,. This might be not perfect for durability as Kolarov's match-worn Mercurial boots reveal.

The new upper is also added to the low-cut Nike Hypervenom Phantom III soccer cleats. Apart from new upper texture, the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III cleat is the same as before.

It is not the first time that Nike changes a soccer boot during the lifespan of its generation. Nike heavily updated the upper of the second-gen Nike Hypervenom boot in 2016 and the upper of the Nike Magista Opus in 2017.
