Game of Thrones? WATCH: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia TV Intro Revealed

FIFA this week revealed the the official TV Opening for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The 45-second clip shows main landmarks and symbols of the 11 Russian host cities and ends with an image of a football-shaped Faberge egg containing the World Cup Trophy.

"FIFA interpreted the beauty of the Imperial Eggs into a richly detailed and jewelled football, each panel has its own identity and elements that represent the richness of Russian culture. At the heart of each of these panels sits a jewel, which houses archives of each nation who has won the FIFA World Cup - Brazil, Uruguay, England, Italy, Argentina, France, Spain and Germany."

The video was compared to Game of Thrones opening sequence.
