Fortuna Düsseldorf 18-19 Bundesliga Home Kit Released
Newly promoted German Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf yesterday presented the club's new kit for the 2018-2019 Bundesliga season. Made in collaboration with kit supplier Uhlsport, the new Düsseldorf 18-19 jersey draws inspiration from the Fortuna jersey of 1966, in which the red-whites ascended for the first time in club history in the Bundesliga.
Düsseldorf 18-19 Bundesliga Home Jersey
This is the new Fortuna Düsseldorf 2018-2019 home strip.
Inspired by the jersey of 1966, the new Dusseldorf 18-19 kit features a distinctive V-shape on the chest that is reminiscent of the then promotion jersey. This shape runs from the chest to the shoulders and continues as a discreet thermobranding. It is harmoniously rounded by its dark red cuffs and the ribbed collar with V-neck.
A very special highlight is inside the neck. In addition to the "DNA" value "Tradition", which was woven into the neck band, is below the photo of Fortuna's promotion team of 1966 - by the Bundesliga return this summer thus closes the circle. Another detail is on the back of the jersey. For the first time the font style "Fortuna Sans" is used for the word "Dusseldorf", the back number and the player name. Above the lettering there is an embroidered F95 at the neck.
The new home jersey is all about tradition, one of the values in Fortuna's "DNA".
"The launch of the jester jersey last year marked the beginning of a long journey for us. We as Fortuna want to create the most individual jerseys in German football. In order to do justice to this topic, which is so emotional for our fans," explains Fortuna's Director Business Development, Strategy, Marketing & Digital. Alexander Steinforth. "From now on, our Fortuna DNA will also be the basis for the jersey design. Our 'Tradition' makes the home jersey of the coming season the prelude. For around a year, we worked together with uhlsport on the jerseys for the 2018/19 season."
"We once again thank uhlsport for its individuality and flexibility in its cooperation. We were again allowed to incorporate our design wishes this year and uhlsport has implemented this to our fullest satisfaction," says Fortuna's CEO Robert Schäfer.
Melanie Steinhilber, Managing Director of uhlsport GmbH, adds: "Fortuna is a true traditional club and finally back in the top league. The coming season is therefore a very special one, which one wanted to take into account with an equally traditional but nevertheless very self-confident design. The new home shirt of the Fortuna has its roots in the successful past and hopefully in the future often represents a gratifying present."
The new Fortuna Düsseldorf 18-19 away and third kits will be revealed within the next few weeks.
