Mesut Özil Becomes Arsenal's New Number 10

Arsenal today announced that Mesut Ozil will wear the No 10 shirt for us from the start of the 2018-19 season. The Germany international has worn the No 11 shirt since joining Arsenal in 2013 but will switch for the upcoming campaign. The number 10 shirt was made available by the departure of Jack Wilshere.

Mesut said: “It has never been a secret how special this number is to me. My childhood idol Zinedine Zidane wore this number and it is still the most characteristic one for the playmaker position. I'm looking forward to putting it on for the first time at Arsenal after the summer break!”

Arsenal Offers Free Shirt Replacement

Supporters who have purchased an ‘Ozil 11’ printed 2018/19 season shirt from Arsenal Direct will be contacted and sent a replacement ‘Ozil 10’ shirt of the same size and type (home or away). Supporters who have purchased a shirt from our official stores should back to the store with proof of purchase for a replacement shirt.
