Total 90 Comeback? All-New Nike Phantom Venom vs Nike Total 90 Laser IV

Some days ago, we leaked the all-new Nike Phantom Venom soccer cleat that will replace the Nike Hypervenom football boot silo in early 2019. The leaked Nike Phantom Venom reminded many of us of the Nike Total 90. We find out what the Nike Phantom Venom 2019 football boots have in common with the Nike Total 90 Laser IV.

The Nike Total 90 Laser IV football boot was released in September 2011. Made for ultimate power and shooting accuracy and headlined by Wayne Rooney, the Nike T90 silo was ditched in Summer 2013 for the Nike Hypervenom.

Nike Phantom Venom Brings Back Iconic Shoot Element of Nike Total 90 Laser IV Boots

The last generation of the Nike Total 90 football boot, the Nike Total 90 Laser 4, introduced a remarkable design with redesigned shooting and swerve zones on the instep. We find these elements on the all-new Nike Phantom Venom soccer cleat in nearly identical fashion. The upper of both cleats seems to be similar as well.

Apart from the shooting element on the instep, the Nike Phantom Venom is totally different to the Nike T90 boot. The cleat comes with a lace cover (set to introduced with the Nike Phantom Vision) and a sole plate similar to the one of the Nike Hypervenom.

All in all, it can be said that the Nike Phantom Venom is a partial comeback of the Nike T90 - the boot combines the trademark shooting elements of the Nike Total 90 Laser IV with a modern lace-cover and an outsole similar to the one of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom. It is a mix of the Nike Hypervenom, the Nike Phantom Vision and the Nike Total 90.
