Transparent Sleeves: First Look at the Nike 2019 Women's World Cup Anthem Jackets + Training Kits
Besides the match kits, which are absolutely gorgeous for the most part, Nike earlier this week also granted us a first look at the anthem jackets and training sets to be used by the 14 Swoosh-sponsored federations at the 2019 Women's World Cup. Thanks to SoccerBible for the event pictures.
Nike really went all in for this iteration of the 2019 Women's World Cup, going far beyond anything the brand had done before. Not only did they design exclusive kit designs for most of the involved teams, with details not found anywhere before, the cut and overall aesthetic was also tweaked and adapted who will be wearing the gear in the end.
This definitely applies to the anthem jackets and training tops, which, while being based on the same template as the ones used previously, were heavily updated in various aspects.
Nike 2019 Women's World Cup Anthem Jackets
The Nike 2019 Women's World Cup anthem jackets feature a pleated back and partly transparent sleeves.
We only have an HQ pictures of replica versions of the England, France and USA anthem jackets, where the sleeves are not quite transparent but instead feature a subtle stripe pattern. The pleated back can be seen here as well, though. It remains to be seen whether the authentic jackets will go on sale.
Nike 2019 Women's World Cup Training Kit
The training kit comes with the name of the country printed on the right sleeve, while also accounting to the changes made to the overall fit and cut on the match uniforms.
It remains to be seen which elements of the Nike 2019 Women's World Cup jackets and training kit will make it into the men's club collections for the 19-20 season, but some very interesting details were added either way.
