Under Armour And Sport Recife Break Kit Deal After One Year, Four Years Ahead

According to Sport Recife president Milton Bivar, the decision to break the contract was the Under Armour itself and will not be restricted only to Sport Recife, since the brand must abandon Brazilian football.

"Our lawyers are seeing the best way to terminate the contract, but the truth is that the brand decided to leave football and not only Sport Recife. Vulcabrás, which operates Under Armour in Brazil, chose to leave football. With this, they stay in uniform until July and August and then we should have another supplier," said the leader to Globoesporte.com.

Fluminense also wears the brand, but sought by Brazilian newspaper Globe Esporte, the executive director of Fluminense said that nothing would change in the partnership with the American supplier.

Sport Recife has a contract until 2023 with Under Armour and according to information from Globo Esporte itself, the club receives about R$ 12 million per year (around 3 million USD / year).

According to Globoesporte, Sport Recife is already in talks with Diadora and Umbro. There are possibilities for the Lion to follow the line of several Brazilian clubs and create their own brand.
