Norwich City Announce Club-Record Dafabet Shirt Sponsorship Deal + Home Kit Release Date

Norwich City this morning announced Dafabet as the club's new main sponsor for the return of the Premier League.

The partnership between Norwich and Dafabet, an online gambling firm, is the commercial deal in club history and will see the brand's logo appear on all three of Norwich's 19-20 kits.

Dafabet has a strong link with football, having featured on the shirts of Sunderland, Burnley, Aston Villa and Fulham, as well as recently signing a new five-year extension with Scottish Champions Celtic.

City’s Chief Operating Officer, Ben Kensell, commented: “This really is an exceptional deal for Norwich City Football Club. Not only is it the most lucrative partnership the Club has ever had by some way, this partnership alongside our commercial operation allows us to be materially more competitive as a self financed club. Something we are constantly striving to be in everything we do.

“Securing shirt sponsorships at this level is of vital importance and with Dafabet’s history and longevity in sports sponsorship, we have an excellent partner to join us on our journey. We are delighted to be partnered with a top class and respected brand, synonymous with football and sporting sponsorships.

“We are also very pleased that Gravity Trampoline Parks will continue to sponsor our youth replica kits. We look forward to launching the three new Premier League kits over the next month with the home kit to be launched on Saturday, July 6.”

Dimitris Karatzas, Chief Executive of Dafabet, commented: “Everyone at Dafabet is delighted that we are now to be associated with Norwich City Football Club. We are proud of our past association with the Premier league, but we are even more proud to begin the new season with a partner steeped in history and tradition and a club that is highly respected for its sporting values. For us, this is the start of a very long relationship.”

John Cruces, Head of Sponsorships at Dafabet, added: “From our initial meetings with the club the ambition they show is clear to see. They have a unique and fresh approach which is evident both on and off the pitch. We congratulate Norwich City on their return to the Premier League and look forward to working together and achieving common goals.”

Ben Tunnell, Head of Commercial Development at Norwich City stated: “Throughout our dealings with the team at Dafabet they’ve been nothing but professional, and a real pleasure to work with. We thank Dimitris, John and all the team for their brilliant support.”

It was also announced that the Norwich 19-20 home kit will be available to buy from July 6th. More details on that launch, possibly including a full look at the kit, will be released by the club tomorrow.

FIFA Denies Guillermo Ochoa 2026 World Cup Legacy Patch Over Appearance Rules

Guillermo Ochoa has been denied the chance to wear FIFA's new legacy patch at the 2026 World Cup. Despite being selected for six World Cup tournaments spanning from 2006 to 2026, the Mexican goalkeeper does not meet the strict criteria set by FIFA. The governing body requires players to have made on-pitch appearances in at least five different World Cups to qualify for the special badge.

Ochoa did not play any minutes during the 2006 and 2010 tournaments, meaning he has only registered on-pitch appearances in three World Cups prior to the 2026 edition. Because of this, FIFA officially refused to award him the patch. Other veterans playing in the tournament, such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Manuel Neuer, and Yuto Nagatomo, have received the legacy patch for meeting the five-tournament appearance threshold.

The Mexican Football Federation is reportedly planning to push for a reconsideration of the ruling. If Ochoa features in a match during the 2026 tournament, the federation intends to appeal FIFA's decision in hopes of securing the legacy patch for the veteran goalkeeper.
