Behind the Design: Puma AC Milan 19-20 Third Kit
Upon first glance, the stripe design of the Milan 2019-20 third kit looks a bit random. However, it's actually a clever take on a classic club icon. This was revealed by the man who designed it, Puma's Ulrich Planer.
Planer, who was also responsible for the brand's psychedelic goalkeeper template, shared the full graphic on his Instagram.
As you can see, it's actually a vibrant take on the devil, Milan's club mascot. This is inspired by club founder Herbert Kilpin, who described the colors of the Club as follows: "We will be a team of devils. Our colors will be red like fire and black like the fear we will incite to our opponents."
According to Planer, the Milan 2019-20 third kit design "highlights the energy of the new generation and the charisma of the team."
