Happy Birthday, Maradona - Special-Edition Le Coq Sportif Gimnasia DM59 'Third' Kit Released

This Wednesday, October 30, legendary Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona turns 59. To celebrate the date, Gimnasia La Plata, who is coached by the Argentinean star since a few weeks, and its kit supplier Le Coq Sportif, launched a special jersey

Gimnasia will wear the jersey as their kit during some games of the Liga Argentina.

Closely inspired by the Argentina 1986 World Cup away kit, the new SE Gimnasia jersey combines two tones of blue on vertical stripes with white details. Just as the Argentina '86 World Cup shirt, the kit is made by Le Coq Sportif, who are supplying the Argentinean club since a few years.

Maradona's name and his famous number 10 are on the back. A special application is placed on the lower front part of the kit. Each kit tells a little of the history of a player of the Argentine national team

However, for fans wanting the jersey, it has to be noted that the kit will be released in limited edition without being put on sale directly to the fans at the first moment, as announced by the club:

- 59 shirts will be signed by Diego Maradona, and placed in an international auction, where fans from all over the world will be able to bid to buy the pieces

- Another 59 shirts will be given as gifts to friends that Maradona made during his life

- Finally, 59 shirts will be donated to charities. They will also be signed by the Argentine idol and will also be put up for auction to raise funds for these organizations

In mid-November, however, the Special Gimnasia La Plata x Le Coq Sportif DM59 jersey will be officially released to the general public.
