Ever Happened Before? Deportivo To Ditch Revolutionary Hoops Home Kit Midway Through Season
Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña, La Liga champions in 1999-2020, are currently in a very difficult situation, occupying the bottom of LaLiga2. Therefore, they decided to do something that is not happening often - they change their kit throughout the season, which should help to leave behind everything related to their disastrous 2019 year.
Depor To Release Special Shirt With Traditional Vertical Stripes
Depor president Fernando Vidal has asked the LFP for permission to change jersey for the next two games. They want to replace the (revolutionary) horizontally striped shirt launched by Macron, with another jersey, which will bring back the traditional vertical stripes.
The reasons why the stripes have become horizontal was a tribute to the flag of A Coruña, which has them in this sense. However, fans were not happy with it, which was a "stab in our traditions".
Several Spanish newspapers have announced the change. However, the club will not use the 2018-2019 jersey but a special shirt for these matches. It is set to be presented soon.
