Man Utd 20-21 Home Kit Design - Parallels To 1990s Kit Of Scunthorpe | Closer Look

On Monday, we leaked the first details about the Adidas Manchester United 20-21 home uniform, which could introduce a super bold design. Shortly after the leak, Kit Crimes made people aware that the design of the Manchester United 2020-2021 jersey has some parallel to one of the most horrendous kits ever released, the Scunthorpe United FC 1994 away shirt.

Scunthorpe United FC is based in the town of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. The team currently plays in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system.

Scunthorpe United FC 1994 Away Kit vs Manchester United 2020-2021 Home Kit Design

Made by Alan Ward Sports, a former(?) small UK-based in-house supplier, the Scunthorpe 1994-95 away kit boasts an abstract black, blue and yellow graphic design all over the red base.

The graphic design is similar to the one we leaked of Man Utd. However, it is not known yet if the design of the Manchester United kit will feature all over - we think it is more likely to cover only the sleeve cuffs, but only time will tell...

The front of the Scunthorpe United FC 1994 away shirt feature the logo of Pleasure Island, a theme park. The Scunthorpe kit even come with the graphic pattern on the shorts.

Interestingly, the in-house Peterborough United away kit from 1994–96 had the same design in slightly different colors.
