Loses Contracts Regularly: Under Armour Does Not Have Any Big Teams Anymore

If you are following the news in terms of kit makers and their deals, you might have noticed some trends, with some brands increasing their activity in the football market (e.g. Kappa), while other do the opposite. ONe of these brands is Under Armour, who really entered the big football market in 2011 when they signed their first major deal.

Under Armour biggest-ever deal was the one with Tottenham Hotspur. Under Armour had produced Spurs' kits since 2012-13 campaign after the North Londoners signed a five-year £50m deal (just 10 million GBP / year) with the US-based company but, with the contract having expired in 2017, Tottenham have opted for Nike instead.

Under Armour lost several of the teams in the past, including of course Tottenham, Aston Villa, Sao Paulo, Colo-Colo and Cruz Azul.

In 2020, it has been already revealed that Under Armour will lose three another big deals - those with Alkmaar. Fluminense and Lokomotiv Moscow. In fact, Under Armour completely left the Brazilian soccer pro market.

From Summer 2020, Under Armour's biggest contracts are those with Southampton (seven-year deal until 2023 singed in 2016) and with FC St.Pauli (singed in 2016, expires likely in 2021). They also make the jerseys for Argentinean clubs Estudiantes de la Plata and Rosario Central as well as those for Sydney FC (deal signed in June 2019). The don't have any real big teams anymore, and it does also not look like that they will have some in the near future.
