Adidas To Make Lokomotiv Kits From 2020-2021 Season
Starting from the 2020-21 season, teams that are part of Lokomotiv will be equipped with products from Adidas.
Vasily Kiknadze, General Director of FC "Lokomotiv":
"We are happy to sign a contract with such a large company as Adidas, a leading brand. Now we play in Under Armour uniform. We are grateful to this company for the cooperation, but the cooperation with Adidas opens principally new horizons for us. I mean the chain of stores, we also discuss projects related to the celebration of the centenary of the club with Locobol. This concerns not only the outfitting of the teams, we will cooperate in different directions.
In addition to the outfit contract, we have a marketing contract on terms that allow us to treat it as a commercial direction. Activation of the contract will bring a lot of positive for both Adidas and Locomotive. I will not name numbers, but the marketing contract is not only money, but also bonuses for successful performances of "Locomotive", as well as a percentage of sales of equipment. We are satisfied. Lokomotiv has not had such contracts since 2008".
The partnership of the two brands has a long history. It was Adidas who was Lokomotiv's first technical sponsor - in 1989. Wearing Adidas kit, the team won the Super Cup of Russia in 2005, three Cups of Russia in 2007, 2015 and 2017, and became the champion of the country in the season 2017-18.
Rupert Campbell, Managing Director of Adidas in Russia and the CIS:
"We are pleased to start a new phase of cooperation with FC Lokomotiv. Our joint path began in far 1989, when Adidas was the first technical sponsor in the history of the club. We all remember the great season 2017-18, in which Lokomotiv became the champion of Russia, playing in the form of Adidas.
Football is a key category for us, and we believe that our partnership with Lokomotiv will strengthen our position and achieve new victories. Now we are also preparing several interesting projects that will mark the milestones in our common history".
